Local duo to perform in Howard County
The Wood Brothers of Monrovia are doing what they love best at the annual Howard County Fair in West Friendship this week--entertaining the masses with magic tricks in stage shows involving teleporting peanut butter & jelly and a gas-powered bubble machine.
It's the fourth year Peter, 19, and Matt, 13, both the children of Mary Ann and Ken Wood of Monrovia, have performed at the fair.
This year, Peter and Matt bring their unique blend of comedy, magic, and audience participation to lucky fairgoers through Saturday.
"We take pride in the fact that almost all of our tricks and set pieces are designed and built by us,” said Peter, a student at the University of Maryland [Baltimore County] and working magician with more than a decade of experience.
Matt, who will start Urbana High School in the fall, is his brother's assistant.
While doing other magic shows year-round, the brothers have found time between busy school and work schedules to make their show at the fair truly enjoyable.
"For the past several months, we've been dreaming up, designing, and building new tricks especially for the Howard County Fair,” Matt said.
